ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOW The swallows were all flying very close to the ground, as were numerous CHIMNEY SWIFTS. It was fascinating to watch the differing flight styles of the various swallows. The BANKS, in particular, have a habit of occasionally going into an almost vertical climb, followed by a stall and a rapid drop. BTW, Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens had GREEN HERON but no sign of the TRICOLORED HERON spotted last week. Mike Bowen Bethesda MD D.H.
