Thanks to the MOS members form Garrett County for suggesting Mt. Nebo. While birding at Mt. Nebo Wildlife Management Area on Saturday Morning (May 19), we got good views of more than one singing Golden-winged Warbler in the wetland area. A male Rose-breasted Grossbeak was perching so close in a bush that you didn't need binoculars to see the bird. Heard Alder Flycatcher calling. Along the road trail past the wetland there we saw an orange variant Scarlet Tanager. It was the first time I had ever seen one of these. The color reminded you more of an oriole than a tanager. It still had the black wings, but was unusually bright orange.
