It borders = Jumpers Hole Rd and Kinder Rd, with the entrance from the former. Go = through the gate and drive straight at the first jct (rd to ball fields = goes to the left). Go past playground and park at the last picnic = pavilion. Walk 100 ft to end of entrance rd and turn right. Go around = metal gate and take gravel path about 100 yds to jct with paved = hiker-biker trail. Go left on this trail and follow pavement about 300 = yds or so until jct with gravel rds to right and left. Take left = gravel/dirt rd about 50 yds or so out into open field. The sparrrow has = been in area ahead and to the right (several dirt rds are obviously = leading into this area), which is a grassy field with small, shrubby = trees scattered about. Listen carefully for the song. The sparrow loves to sit in the trees, usually low but sometimes higher, = and sing its buzz-buzz-buzz (varies from 2-4 buzzes usually) song. Don't forget to check in with resident birder Ranger David Farner, in = case he's on duty. Also, don't forget the park is closed on Tuesdays. The bird did seem a bit flighty, so I would recommend folks do their = best to avoid anything that remotely resembles harassment (especially = with tapes!).....it may be looking for an excuse to move on. =20 Good luck!
