I did not find the bird despite looking for it for about ten minutes. When I first heard the bird, I thought at once of a mourning warbler I saw and heard last year at Cromwell Valley. The ascending notes sounded "burry" and rich, with a clear second part to the song. I will review tapes to check Kentucky Warbler, however. The bird I heard was at the South end of the lake, across the railroad tracks just as the trail divides into two tracks, one closer to the lake than the other. The bird was calling from a thicket not more than 15 feet from the ground.
