Dressing for wet weather, I braved the raindrops to catch the Clay-colored Sparrow Saturday morning between 8:30 and 10:00. The bird appeared in the previous-described location. Thanks again to all who have described it. It is a life-bird for me! I saw it only for about 5 minutes, although for that short time it was quite accomodating. (It was not singing.) Most of the time I was there, rain poured. A few breaks in the rain allowed views of the exaggerated flight display of chats, as well as a view of a Lincoln's Sparrow along the paved path ~100 yds. before turning off onto the gravel road. Thus far this year I have missed Blue Grosbeak. Happy to read George Jett found them yesterday. Alas, not me. In addition to the other birds George mentioned, I also saw two Laughing Gulls fly over. - Don Burggraf Baltimore _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
