It took off less than an hour later, so we didn't get a chance to see it. I hope he has a chance to post about it. =20 We drove around West Potomac Park and didn't find any shorebirds at all. Paul then had to go, so Lisa and I drove along the Anacostia south of Pennsylvania Avenue, then headed to Kenilworth Park and Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens. No Charadriiformes of any sort along the Anacostia; at Kenilworth Park we heard one singing Grasshopper Sparrow in the +/- northwest corner meadow area, and saw an adult Black-crowned Night Heron on the edge of a large temporary pool to the left (south) of the entrance road among the oaks. At K. A. G. we walked out to the end of the boardwalk where we saw a very high tide and Rough-winged, Barn, and Tree Swallows. No Alder or any flycatchers, no Tricolored Heron, etc. etc. We returned to the car rather soaked. =20 Rob Hilton rhilton@csa.com Bethesda, Md. ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
