Some comments: . They don't last forever. When the cleaning seems to slow down or the pad gets gray instead of black, time to reinvest. . Many people seem to have questionable technique with the brush -- the idea is to get rid of dust and grit, and I find a combination of gentle blowing and brushing across the lens works well. Dabbing, swirling, and some other motions simply do not push the bad stuff off the surface. If you have extendable lens caps, lower them to make it easier to brush. . Twist the pad end frequently with its cap on -- this cleans the pad and seems to recharge it. (Pure speculation but I wonder if the "magic" is toner?) The microfiber cloths are super for anything the Lenspen cannot clean. These cloths are especially great for eyeglass lenses. They seem very safe for use on plastic eyeglass lenses, too. Finally, everything I have ever read says never use any kind of paper, even "lens paper" on a lens. I am sure this is overly restrictive as there must be some paper or paper-like products out there that are perfectly good -- you just never know for sure and the above two products have proven records.
