With light rain, no wind and a solid band of precipitation to our south, I decided to forgo the Fort Smallwood kite watch and searched the PG section of the Potomac instead. The highlight was an extraordinary NINE WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS at Broad Creek. Other shorebirds present were Semipalmated Plover 12 Semipalmated Sandpiper 2 Spotted Sandpiper 1 Greater Yellowlegs 1 Many thanks to Fred Shaffer for showing me the access to this area.
