McHenry (11:45a-12:45p). Jim was not there; so I walked around the lawn and watched the Tree and Barn Swallows. After seeing a couple of Eastern Kingbirds and lots of Starlings I decided to leave. I went to Patterson Park (1:00p-1:30p) to look for the Common Moorhen and found a Sora! It had been standing on the concrete surrounding the pond. As I approached it stepped into the tall grasses growing on the West side of the pond. From six feet away I saw the gray and black on its face and the bright yellow bill. A Sora! If anyone is downtown and would like to attempt to find the Sora tomorrow send me a message. My e-mail at work is: kcostley@fglife.com.
