I took a photo of the Curlew Sandpiper in the Shearness Pool at Bombay Hook on Wednesday (mid-day). The plumage is unlike anything I can find in my books, including the big Shorebirds volume. I'd be interested in hearing from others who saw this bird (or the Raymond Pool bird, which I understand was in different plumage), or any Curlew Sandpiper, to discuss this plumage. The photo is at the bottom of this webpage: http://www.birdingamerica.com/degallery.htm Thanks!
