I had a better look than the day before; but they could only say "It was rail-like". We walked around the pond to give the Sora a little time to itself and returned twenty minutes later. After waiting and debating we decided to play a tape and the response was immediate and amazing. One Sora answered and then came out of the reeds and posed for Greg, who by some stange coincidence had a camera. It started calling right in front of us, four feet away, and another joined in from the North end of the pond. Given that Patterson Park is very busy with people and thier activities (and all the noise that goes with that) I thought it would not damaging to play the tape. In the last few minutes of my break the Sora, stand in clear veiw, ignored us as we talked. A guy told us that the Common Moorhen was there yesterday.
