Went out yesterday without listening to the song on CD-- bad mistake. Birds were singing but staying under cover in the wind. Today I prepared, playing the CD a few times, but the bird was either not around or not singing. With all the positive reports, I had forgotten that sparrows can be very, very tough to find. I did find some other nice birds, including a pair of Blue Grosbeaks and a Meadowlark (seen Sunday). I talked to a Ranger who told me it had been some time (years?) since he's seen a Meadowlark in the park.
