County MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Just got back from a morning which included the Dickcissel at Manor Woods Rd in the scope. The YC Night Herons at Lillyponds are so tame you can almost pet them. Best of all, there is at Least a pair of Bitterns there. We had the first one fly into the cattails at the pond next to the parking lot for a brief glimpse, then toward the back we had one fly into a pond and stay up long enough for us to get it in the scope. Then we could hear a second one calling right in front of us. It flew and landed in the same pond as the one we had in the scope. We were quite sure the one in the scope was a female and the second one was the male. I wouldn't look for them at any particular pond. They were not at the one previously indicated by Kurt Schwarz. They appear to be anywhere you happen to get them. Several egrets, as well as green and blue herons. He was right about the Willow flycatchers, too. We scoped one singing. Good day, in spite of some rain. Think I'll take a nap now. Jerry Tarbell "Kurt R. Schwarz" wrote: > This a.m. (6/3) paid a visit to Lilypons in search of the Yellow- > crowned Night Herons.
