I had heard it several times, but never seen it. We were having lunch at the Monroe Run overlook, New Germany Road in Garrett County. One was calling frequently from a tree just out in front of the overlook. I set up a scope trained at the point where it seemed to be coming from. After about twenty minutes it finally came around to our side of the tree and I got a half decent look. I think I've seen maybe two less than twenty feet off the ground. Kentuckies are easier because they live in the understory, but unfortunately, it's often thick understory and all you get is a brief glance as they go from bush to bush. Had one sing a complete circle around me at Morgan Run at fairly close range and never once saw him! Some birds just hate being seen.
