I arrived at Kinder Farm Park at 9:20. Got my signals crossed with Shirley and Ray Geddes, but eventually we met at the sparrow field. From 10-11 I saw chats, blue grosbeaks, 1 orchard oriole, but no CCSP. At 11 we met Chris Barnard from Rockville; he had actually heard the bird that morning near birdbox 9. Shirley, Ray and I wandered through the fields a bit. At 11:30 we were back at birdbox 9, and Chris and I were both hearing the CCSP. Chris saw it in a small bush, but Shirley and I got only inconclusive looks. 20 more minutes of searching, interrupted for a moment by a perched blue grosbeak (male). Then Chris found the CCSP 15 feet up in a tree. I looked through Chris's scope, and got a gorgeous, field guide quality view. This was a life bird for me. Thanks to my companions of the morning, and to those who posted information on Osprey.
