I'm greatly surprised that I am not seeing terns flying over Piscataway Creek, near my home, and realizing that I haven't seen them for some weeks now. Had previously seen Common and Forsters and some Royals and Caspians, but now there are none at all. Will someone help me out? they're shown as heavy lines in the yellow book all through the summer, and my youthful memories are of terns wherever there was ocean, bay or tidal stream, all summer long. Thanks for info - just can't seem to find info in my fairly large collection of guides.
