Two ad. female harriers north of Wingate (where 336 runs near Wingate Creek). A Sika Deer at Andrews. In my June 18 posting I forgot to mention the most unusual item we saw all day. At Holland I. Carol Erwin and I also saw what seemed to be 3 different tidal bores in a c. 15 minute period centering around 6:30 P.M. Conditions were: clear, light NW diminishing winds c. 5-8 m.p.h., tide had been coming in for perhaps 45 minutes, no boats in sight (We only saw 3 boats under way all day long). 1): The first bore (if that is what it really was) was a single isolated wave perhaps 10" high. 2): The second bore consisted of a series of 6-7 slightly higher waves variously 100-150 yards long which were all breaking. 3:) The third bore was similar to the second but not as extensive - with fewer waves that were not as long but which were also breaking. All 3 of these phenomena rolled in from the south right to where our boat was and were first seen at a distance of c. 500-700'. There were no other waves coming into to where the boat was since this area on the south end of Holland was nearly calm then. We were c. 200 yards northeast of the extreme south end of Holland. Has anyone heard of anything like this in the Bay? Please send any personal replies to: harryarmistead@hotmail.com Best to all.-Harry Armistead, 523 E.
