Although the bird was first heard on the wrong side of the river (from a HoCo point of view), it soon responded to spishing, and flew across to the south (HoCo) bank, where it continued to sing. vigorously. Half an hour later (around 10 o'clock), as we returned down the railroad, the bird was still singing on the HoCo side and afforded us very nice views. The bird was found where a high rock cut on the south side of the tracks is matched by a low rock cut on the north side. There is a gas-line marker (No. 000099) near the correct location. Other birds seen or heard included Hairy Woodpecker, Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Wood Duck, Veery, Wood Thrush, Scarlet Tanager, Northern Parula, Black-and-white Warbler, Ovenbird, Louisiana Waterthrush, Yellow-throated Vireo, and Red-eyed Vireo. ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
