It = was in a little-visited area north of Wards Chapel Road. Though there = was no evidence of a mate or young this is an extraordinary location. = The habitat is scrub pine and oak near a stream. A complete list of the birds there for the day follows: Black Vulture, Turkey Vulture, Wood Duck (1 drake), Wild Turkey (1 hen), = Mourning Dove, Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Pewee, = Acadian Flycatcher, White-eyed Vireo, Yellow-throated Vireo, Blue-headed = Vireo (video-taped), Red-eyed Vireo, Blue Jay, American Crow, Barn = Swallow, Carolina Chickadee, Titmouse, White-breasted Nuthatch, Carolina = Wren, Gnatcatcher, Wood Thrush, Robin, Catbird, Thrasher, Waxwing, Pine = Warbler (fledged young), Prairie Warbler, Black-&-white Warbler (fledged = young), Ovenbird, Hooded Warbler, Chat (carrying food), Towhee, Chipping = Sparrow, Field Sparrow (fledged young), Cardinal, Indigo Bunting, and = Goldfinch.
