There is still time to sign up for this action packed birding weekend. We have obtained a few more apartments from University Park so there are now more rooms available. Conference Registrar Janet Shields reports there is still availability for people to opt for the four persons per apartment rate. If you would like to take advantage of the 4 person per apartment rate, register that way and you will be paired assigned a room in an apartment with other with similar requests. Included at the end of this message is a list of other accommodations in Salisbury that may be useful to you as well. Boat Trips Boat trip for Trip #1 (Chrisfield Exploring) is full and we can not accept any more sign ups for this trip. However there are still plenty of spots available on Trip #2 (Sinepuxent Bay Trip) so feel free to registrar for these half day trips available from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning. There is a $20 cost to register for this pontoon boat trip. Regular Conference Field Trips. A wide variety of all half day and all day trips are scheduled for the weekend. Sign up for these trips begins at noon on Friday Aug. 10 and the number of people per trip is limited. We are still in search of trip leaders for some trips. Sod Farms, Pemberton Park, Nanticoke River East, Deal Island WMA, O.C Ponds & Sk, Bombay Hook, Wicomico Lister's, Somerset Co., Pickering Creek, Queen Anne's Sod Farm, Easton Water Treatment, Irish Grove Sanctuary, Our Keynote Speakers for the Friday night dinner are nationally known authors and birding couple Don and Lillian Stokes. Eastern Shore nature author Larry Points will give a presentation an Saturday and sign books. Shorebird ID Workshop - presented on Friday afternoon by George Jett. This workshop will include some of the best shorebirds in the State including some form the collection of the late Claudia WIlds. Ornithology Research Presentations will be given Saturday afternoon. Topics this year include: Proceeds from the Silent Auction and Raffle will be split between the Centerville Middle School World Series of Birding Team and The Lower Shore Land Trust. Students for the CMS WSOB Team team will join us at in Salisbury and will lead a birding trip that will be open to the public and will also help with the raffle. Wildlife Artist Display will be back again.
