A WARNING! Tyler described going past a gate on Aaron Run Road in search of Henslow's Sparrows. The landowner has been contacted in the past and has NOT given permission to enter. There are safey and liability issues on this property. The site is indeed an old strip mine, but it is currently an active sludge disposal site. The equipent can be active at any time of the day, depending on the processing of the sludge from the Westernport WWTP. Heavy equipment is in use. If you go to Aaron Run Road, bird FROM THE ROAD. DO NOT TRESPASS! I have regularly had Henslow's Sparrows, and all the other good birds, from Aaron Run Road near its highest point. This is about 1/4 mile west of the gate Tyler described; alternatively, about 1/4 mile east of Westernport Road. Good Birding!
