Highlights included a male and female pair of Scarlet Tanagers perched together on the same branch, a calling Yellow Billed Cuckoo (calling for over 45 minutes), and a Yellow Breasted Chat. I got very close looks at both the Tanagers and the Chat. Also, when I was in an area of especially dense woods, I had a Chicadee, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, and Black and White Warbler all approach me within 10 or 15 feet. Other birds were Prairie Warblers, Indigo Buntings, Blue Grosbeak (female), Carolina Wren, Yellow Throated Vireo, Red Eyed Vireo, several crows, Eastern Towhees, 1 Killdeer, Tufted Titmouse, and many, many Ovenbirds.
