The area was very birdy for a summer eve. The = highlights from the breeding birds were 2 very young fledgling KENTUCKY = WARBLERS. 2 "yellowstart" REDSTARTS but no concrete evidence of breeding = activity. Singing HOODED, OVENBIRD, LA. WATERTHRUSH and COMMON = YELLOWTHROAT. Flycatchers were in abundance with a nest of EASTERN = PHEOBES on one of the pump station buildings. Chicks could be seen = peeking over the rim of the nest. ACADIAN, PEWEE and KINGBIRDS all with = young nearby. A pair of BARRED OWLS were calling up a storm.=20 CHIPPING SPARROWS were everywhere. I did have a skulker in a thicket = that by chip note could well have been a swamp. The bird zipped out and = size/shape/color made it likely but I couldn't call it for certain. 44 = species in all.
