I haven't seen any breeding or any brood. I will return to Horsehead in August for my monthly wildlife survey. I haven't done any survey this past 3 months. But did a short survey during my lunch break from deliver plants few weeks ago and saw the White Pelican in a poor view near Parson Island which is northeast of Boklin Island. Anyway, back to Ruddy Duck. I don't know why they remain here for the summer, might be non-breeder. We flushed a female Ruddy Duck with a brood of 8 hatchlings from the shore of the northwestern pond. ~18 Ruddy ducks. Harry this may be a state first, or at least a rarity for nesting.
