As indicated in the Claudia Wilds guide (p. 57), this park had veeries. I heard and saw at least 2 on the hill overlooking the ravine that runs down from Connecticut Ave. to Rock Creek. The same section of the Wilds guide also successfully led me to a personal nemesis, the elusive DC house wren, several of which were around the barn behind the Klingle House. Other birds seen in the park included acadian flycatcher, red-eyed vireo, hairy woodpecker, and a family of barn swallows. In the thicket behind nearby Rock Creek Gallery and Pierce Mill, I also had an long, eye-level look at a singing white-eyed vireo.
