On the way, a YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO (over by the New Town houses but it seems to move a lot). While in this spot -- a nesting SCARLET TANAGER, Hooded and Prairie Warblers, Pileated Woodpecker, Yellow-throated Vireo, and an assortment of the usuals (Carolina Wren, Titmouse, Eastern Towhees (lots), and Chickadees). The spot? On the yellow trail at the spot closest to Dolfield Road (on the right of the map at http://www.dnr.state.md.us/publiclands/central/soldiermap.html where it goes off the picture at the bottom basically. There is a sort of meadow there. The Tanager was just at the edge of the woods as one goes further along the trail counter-clockwise.)
