As Phil Davis reported, it seems to have narrowed its territory to both sides of the path on the left of the "T" junction just past bluebird box 9. This time it was more approachable than I previously have seen it and it was easily viewed at close range. It also seemed at least as vocal as earlier in the summer, often singing 2-3 times back to back; from 3-8 notes per song, usually 5-7. I don't know if there are previous summer records for this species in MD. But for those who are so inclined, this bird may present a unique chance for birders to list CC Sparrow in MD in every month of the year (not necessarily the same year!). I think it was George Jett who once suggested this type of "close-out." Hopefully the Kinder bird will still be there in August or later. Then we get into September thru April, which are probably more typical for these vagrants. Something different to try for, anyway.
