The highlight was a pair of Forster's Terns, one adult and one juvenile, viewed (after low tide, around noon) from River Terrace Park just below the Benning Rd. bridge. The adult was diving and providing small fish to the young one, which also took a few dives into the river but mostly stayed on an exposed flat along with about 50 gulls, a mix (roughly half and half) of Ring-billed and Laughing. Also seen from River Terrace Park were two Osprey, a Great Egret, and a Green Heron. Earlier in the morning I saw the following from the end of the river trail at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens: 4 Greater Yellowlegs 2 Spotted Sandpipers 1 Solitary Sandpiper 1 Least Sandpiper 2 Great Egrets along with several Great Blue Herons, Green Herons, and Killdeer.
