Perhaps this is caused by inbreeding. Hybrids seem to have any characteristic possible. With the tremendous increase in resident Canada Geese the probability of a Canada X farm goose hybrid occurring here is much greater than a lone Canada X White-front. Such hybrids have been seen here but only in winter or migration and always with a mixed family group. At least that's the extent of our knowledge so far. Greylag hybrids tend to be heavier and larger. White-front hybrids smaller and more slender.
