It was at the northeast end of the lake, visible from the path on the north side of the lake 50-100 feet east of the bridge. Also present were 3 Green Herons -- 2 juvenile and 1 adult -- all in the area of the bridge. We watched the youngest bird catching fish about 20 feet away for quite some time, and it was still there when we came back past the bridge later on. Other highlights: An Eastern Kingbird was sitting on a dead snag over the lake just west of the bridge. A Kingfisher we'd been hearing stopped to rest in a tree at Forebay Pond giving us a good view. Two Ring-billed Gulls were circling over the western half of the lake. And several Barn Swallows sat cooperatively on a rafter in the red-topped gazebo on the south side of the lake to let us enjoy a close-up look at their beauty.
