Nevertheless, there were the usual Spotted Sandpipers around the water's edge, and there was also a flock of about 30 peeps and three or four larger birds, possibly pectorals, flying around, and then occasionally putting down in the water-soaked fields of vegetation. With the latest bout of dry and heat, the habitat has probably improved over the past week. The next day we visited Deal Is. WMA, and there were a good number of both yellowlegs, leasts, and dowitchers off of Riley Roberts Rd., on the right (west) side, a few hundred yards prior to the gravel parking lot at the end. I think Matt Hafner posted that the construction at Ridgely should be complete this month.
