If still a working farm what an opportunity to have a bluebird > Marty, The farm is not a "working" farm any longer. The farmers widow still lives on the property, but is getting way up in years (her husband was in his 90's when he passed away). She still has the fields planted in grass and has them mowed (perhaps by one of her sons, who I believe owns a farm in another county). It is my understanding that none of her children wants the farm, and as there is at least one huge newish home adjacent to it, it will inevitably fall to developers, eventually. I just hope that when that happens, they have the foresight to save the beautiful old barn on the property, which dates to the mid-1800's. Because the fields are still planted in hay, we still get Bobolinks every spring, passing through. The fields are surrounded by others which board horses, and one is a stock nursery. The farm is adjacent to our townhome property but seperated by a large hedgerow, which also houses many species of birds. It is a changing landscape, though, and will remain so. I have no access to the farm, and really haven't the time to start a bluebird trail, and since it will likely fall to developers, I don't want to start something which may not have a future. I will probably put up one more house here next season, though. Our bluebirds fledged while we were away this weekend, so no more "attack bluebird". They are hanging around in the trees here, as I see them on my morning dog walk.
