There was still some nice mud and wet grass around the edges. (Will probably dry up within a week if this weather continues with no rain.) However, not a single shorebird of any description was to be seen! It was hot enough that I was not tempted to walk around the other ponds to see what might be there. What's more, no Upland Sandpipers were visible in the field where they were reported last week, on the south side of Oland Rd. and west of Route 85.
