It had apparently taken off from the PG side and flew downstream (crossing the county line repeatedly). Eventually, it went past my house, where, if i had been looking at the bay from there, i would have had a rather cool yard bird! This brings to mind my May 18, 1996 (for the record-keepers on the list) sighting of a flock of approx. 15-20 AVOCETS from the "river pier" at Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary. They were flying rather low from the AA side to the PG side. Also on the 8th of August, 2001, i saw 2 NORTHERN SHOVELERS at Knowles Marsh on the Center Tract of Patuxent NWRC. danny bystrak bristol, AA Co.
