Due to the drought there is very little water = left in the ponds but the habit looks very good for Baird's and = Buff-breasted right now. A fence has recently been constructed around = the west pond but there is still room to walk around the dike for a good = view. Best light is in the morning. Today's birds: Killdeer 13 (10 in the east pond, 3 in the west pond) Spotted Sandpiper 1 (west pond) Least Sandpiper 2 (east pond) Pectoral Sandpiper 23 (18 in the east pond, 5 in the west pond) Swallows - dozens of Barns, at least one each of Tree, Bank, and = Purple Martin Savannah Sparrow - a family group at the west pond Bobolink - at least a dozen very bright yellow-plumaged birds in the = weeds at the west pond Bob Ringler Eldersburg, Md ringler@qis.net ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
