Best bird was a migrant immature CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER, seen briefly near the log cabin at the farmstead area. Near the pond we found a black snake slinking through the brush, being scolded by a White-eyed Vireo, a pair of House Wrens, a catbird and a young Prairie Warbler. Along the trail going down to the pond, a milkweed plant was being devoured by a horde of Milkweed Tiger Moth caterpillars. Our other nice insect find (birding was a little slow) was a female Ichneumon Wasp, which we watched through our binoculars as it cleaned its wings and abdomen. Also we watched a few dragonflies, one which was eating another insect as we looked at it with binoculars!
