It favored the largest dead tree on the south side of the yard, but it made its way completely around the perimeter over the course of an hour. The pile of asphalt in the center of the yard provided a good vantage point. The evening light was not always great, but I did get several good looks at the white tuft on its back and the dark vest. At one point, a pewee was perched nearby. The flycatcher was noticeably larger, its flanks darker. Unfortunately, it did not vocalize. In addition, 2 Common Nighthawks flew over the yard.
