Hope things pick up by next weekend, 'cause it was mighty slow today! My only good finds were a handful of immature Magnolia and Chestnut-sided Warblers, with another handful of American Redstarts thrown in for good measure. A group of White-eyed Vireos and some still singing Red-eyed Vireos, Acadian Flycatcher (still singing!) and E. Wood-pewee (ditto) along with an empid made things interesting. Many Yellow-billed Cuckoos and Gray Catbirds were calling/singing from the woods and margins, along with towhees. Gnatcatchers and hummers patrolled the tops of small trees along the road. Pretty slim pickins though! Headed downy-ocean for a few days.
