The Queen was heading slowly down river. All observations were in Kingman Lake, the western portion of the Anacostia where the river has mid-river islands. =20 A (Another?) female Queen was sighted at nearby National Arboretum on Saturday, August 25 by a local butterflier. These seem to be the first reports of Queens from DC. But, interestingly, this summer there have been separate sightings of Queens in: northern New Jersey (photographed), New York City, and Montgomery, NY. So, keep your eyes out for this species! =20 Best,=20 Rob Hilton rhilton@csa.com Bethesda, Md.=20 ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
