But we perservered and those that did were rewarded with an Olive-sided Flycatcher in the Maintenance Yard about 9 am, flying about and doing its thing. (Thanks to Joe Halpin who spotted it!) When we left it was still there so will probably stay all day. A few small flocks of migrants and some individual birds finally added to the morning's tally -- Blue-winged (1), Canada (1), Nashville (2), Magnolia (4), Chestnut-sided (1), Redstart (4), Yellow (1), Yellowthroat (2) and I know at least one Black and White was seen by others. Also, 4-5 Red-eyed Vireos, 2 Scarlet tanagers, 1 Yellow-billed Cuckoo (heard only), 7 Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, 1 Acadian FC and 2 Wood-pewees. Also, a number of Baltimore Orioles were seen early by others. The front passing through should make birding more exciting in the next couple of days!
