The puddle is located on Reliance-Galestown Rd north of Galestown, Dorchester Co. Heading north, it is one the right at the first road to the right. This puddle is sporadic, being excellent some springs and dry some others (I assume in relation to how well the drainage pipe and ditches have been cleaned). Anyway, it has water now and, even better, it has shorebirds. Present were 4 Great Egrets, 1 imm. Little Blue Heron, approx. 6 of each yellowlegs, 4 Pectoral Sand and 9 Semipalm Sand. Moving on to the Salisbury sod farms, we found nothing but Killdeer and 1 Sam Dyke. Apparently the Buff Breasted had been harassed the evening before and left then or left that morning when the mowers came through. And being that close, we braved the traffic and checked out the Rt 50 borrow pit. We had Least, Semipalm and 2 White-Rumped Sands, numerous Pecs, both yellowlegs and 1 BB Plover. And to the dozen or so idiots travelling home on Rt 50 that felt it was necessary to honk, yell, scream and otherwise show their stupidity, please leave the Eastern Shore and stay wherever has the misfortune of having you as a resident.
