McHenry. 7 observers saw or heard about 33 species. One of the most interesting bird was a closeup of Whip-poor-will perched on a branch just above the fence near the gate that led to the nature trail. This is my lifebird, new state list, and new county list. I have seen other nightjars, Common Nighthawks many times and once an Chuck-will Widow at Assateague Island year(s) ago. 33 Double-crested Cormorant 2 Great Blue Heron 1 Little Blue Heron?
