It was sad to have such = a beautiful, birdy morning end with the news of the terrorist disaster. = There was a lot of activity, mainly in the open park area just behind = the falls at the beginning of the walk. We had especially excellent = views of two Bay-breasted Warblers and one Nashville Warbler. Numbers = were: Parula 1 Nashville 1 Magnolia 2+ Blackburnian 2 Chestnut-sided 2 Black-throated Blue 3 Black-throated Green 4+ Pine 1 Bay-breast 2 B/W 2+ Redstart 3+ Canada 2 This morning (9/12) I birded locally in western Baltimore County at = Powell's Run Road and Granite/Woodstock. Activity was still fairly good = with 8 warbler species (Parula, Chestnut-sided 4, Magnolia 5, BTG 4, = Bay-brst 1, Redstart, Ovenbird 1, Canada 1). Also, the Baltimore Bird Club web page now has links to the e-mail = discussion "archives" for Virginia, Penna, and NJ under "What Are = Birders Talking About" so that Maryland birders can have a convenient = link to more e-mail info about the good birds in those nearby states.
