Good numbers of some species, but diversity still rather low and nowhere the same numbers as last year at the same weekend (also a strong frontal passage). Warblers: Chestnut-sided (15), Redstart (6), Magnolia (ca. 15), Nashville (3), Blackburnian (6), Blackpoll (1), Parula (6), Black-throated Green (5), Black-throated Blue (4), Black-and-white (3), Ovenbird (2), Common Yellowthroat (6), other birders reported Baybreasted and Chat. Red-eyed Vireo (only 3!), Swainson's Thrush (2), Rose-breasted Grosbeak (3), Scarlet tanager (4), House Wren (10), Ruby-crowned Kinglet (3), 10 Eastern Pewees rounded out the total. A Broadwing and a Cooper's were also seen. I am leaving this evening for St. Louis for a week and will not be posting any more Rock Creek reports, so if someone wants to take this over, please feel free!
