We began at Eden Mill in the morning, then proceeded to Falling Branch, Harford Glen, Bosley Conservancy, Tydings, Conowingo, Perryman, and Lakeside Ponds. The latter three locations were only birded by Jim and myself. Here are the highlights: Eden Mill - GREAT looks at both a Mourning and a Connecticut Warbler. Other warblers included: Black-throated Blue, Myrtle, Magnolia (most common on the day), Nashville, Bay-breasted, Black-throated Green (second most common), Chestnut-sided, Prairie, and Yellowthroat. Also notable were Rose-breasted Grosbeak and Brown Creeper. Falling Branch - Here we had Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, and a Nashville warbler. Harford Glen - Haford Glen held Philly Vireo, Yellow-bellied Fly, White-throated Sparrow, and added Redstart, Parula, and Black-and-white to our list. Bosley - Northern Waterthrush, Tennessee Warbler, and another Philly Vireo delighted us here. Tydings - The only shorebirds were 4 Semi Sands, but the real highlight was the Great Cormorant on the log. There were 25 Pied-billed Grebes as well. Conowingo - We walked down the trail to look for shorebirds on the rocks, no shorebirds, but we found a Black-throated Green, Blackpoll, and a Cape May. At the trailhead on our way head, we had a tree with 7!! Cape Mays. Perryman - We found only one good warbler flock along Chelsea Rd. Fortunately, this flock held 2 Blackburnians for our day list. The fields added Western Palm Warbler and Savannah Sparrows. Lakeside - Only 2 Great Egrets and a few Killdeer. All in all, a great day. County bird totals: Jim - 4 Dave - 4 Matt - 2 Matt Hafner Bel Air, MD ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
