As we approached the airport we noticed = a group of Common Nighthawks flying overhead. At one point we counted 7 = birds. Then, as we got closer to home, I heard an odd sound overhead. An = Am. Crow was croaking but it was surrounded by 14 Nighthawks! They didn't = seem to be mobbing the Crow but were all moving in the same direction, = kind of southerly. We feel lucky to see one or two Nighthawks in St. = Mary's during the fall but this was unprecedented!
