My route of travel took me onto Rte 32, so I thought I would stop at the sod farm just north of I-70 on the west side of 32, since I was only half a mile away. I've searched five sod farms in the county for nearly three months, finding no shorebirds other than Killdeer, so was quite elated to find with two dozen or so Killdeer three PECTORAL SANDPIPERs and one AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER. This is the fourth AG Plover I've seen in the county this month (three different locations), and for once, a sod farm has been productive. The shorebirds were all in a bare patch on the north side of the farm, where a few bales of sod are stacked. Henryton did not have the hoped for thrushes late this afternoon, but a few warblers were seen, viz: Magnolia (2), Black-and-white (1), Chestnut-sided (1), and Bay-breasted (1).
