I was trecking out there this afternoon, and met Matt Haffner enroute, then passed Nancy Magnuson coming the other way. She had discovered White-rumps there, and was on the way to a phone to let others know. Rick Sussman was by the water with his scope when Matt and I arrived. The following birds were tallied: Bald Eagle--1 adult flying over the reservoir Killdeer--10 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER--1 Least Sandpiper--3 or 4 WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER--3 AMERICAN PIPIT--1 Earlier in the afternoon I had stopped by Fulton Pond in Howard County, and among several Killdeer were two AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVERs. There were no other shorebirds noted. A short walk along the Middle Patuxent River at Edenbrook Drive had little of interest, the most notable birds being a Wood Thrush and a Black-throated Green Warbler.
