My NYC listserv says that our Staten Island bird was seen there on 9/23, but not later. There were just no reports either way; no one went to look and reported it missing or gone. I've seen a Great White in Florida, and even before I got a look at the bill, the legs, etc, it was clear to me that the bird was just plain BIG. In all the years I have been going to Florida, I've only seen it twice, in the Keys and at Flamingo in the Everglades. I wish I could see a Wurdemann's! S.
