Yesterday I birded Mt. Pleasant in Woodstock. Not much migrant sparrow activity and only a few warblers. (Nashville and Black-Throated Green.) Came home to FIVE Rose-Breasted Grosbeaks on the feeders. One of the females let me approach to 4 feet as I was putting out more seed. They must be very hungry! I also had a first for the fall in the yard-Brown Creeper. This morning a trip to Greenbridge was in order to search for the White-Rumped sandpipers. We met with success and also had the Black-Bellied Plover fly in as we were leaving. We then went to pigtail where we had a small warbler flight- BTG, Bay-Breast, Black and White, Chestnut-Sided, Redstart and Common Yellowthroat. A Bald Eagle was also in evidence.
